“Fuzzy” is generally not appreciated in language expression, but it exists widely in both daily communication and various texts. The reasons for the existence of fuzzy language are various. The objective factors of the existence of fuzzy language are the changes of times, cultural differences and Chinese characteristic expression. In addition, in order to achieve a certain expression effect, the writer will subjectively choose to use fuzzy language. This paper first expounds the reasons for the existence of ambiguous words in On Cold Damage, then analyzes the translation strategies and methods of fuzzy language in Li Zhaoguo’s translation version, and summarizes the similarities and differences in the ways of dealing with fuzzy language and translation strategies for different reasons. This not only enhances people’s understanding of fuzzy language and avoids the neglect of fuzzy language in translation, but also provides valuable references for understanding and researching the translation of traditional Chinese medicine works.
